how it feels about having a netbook
As much as I have loved having a Netbook there are some things that I haven’t liked...the Internet connections. Most of the time the Internet would be fine but once I do something important it would most of the time disconnect!
The hardest thing was... the Internet connection. I would always have to wait for more than 5minutes. The greatest challenge for me was...trying to stay in the right place because there is a lot of desertions on the Internet, such as games! From time to time ... I would try and stay in the right place. Most of the time I’m doing the right thing so I would say that I am suburb smart.
If people through that the netboook pliot scheme was failure and would have gone back to pen and paper, then I would be devastated!

family reunion
I did really know my hole family that much, until, the family reunion.
That first moment I walked right though that door, i felt sceared because most people that were I never seen befour that they saw me! Like my cousin beauty. I never know she had existed.
All the work been done when I was little. If you don't know what I mean then it time to tell you!!! When I was little, my nena use to take me to my mum side of the family, and tell them all about me.
It was like talking to strangers at first but, when I got to know them better that feeling went away!! It was nice to know that have a very big family!!!

Making what?!
“ Miss king what is this on the table?” asked my class, begging to know what we are doing. “Once you lot are all quiet, maybe I’ll tell you?” said my teacher. Excited silent children sat on the mat. Rumors were spread all over the classroom that we were going to make Ice-cream Comets.
“Is this a treat or is it some to do with the topic for this term?” I said in my mind. I asked my teacher if it is true, she said “Yes”
Meanwhile my class waited outside while starring at the Ice-cream. “I wonder which team is going first?” said my teacher, while having a quick discussion. We were all in teams. My team went last.
As Miss King scooped the ice-cream and put it into my hands, it dripped though my hands like sand. Waiting for a cone, I saw that the spinkles the I was looking forward to was finished. It was my tern to get a cone so I grabbed a cone and put in my ice-cream.
Carefully manoeuvring though the bay, I took a look at it close. The delicious tasty comet looked realistic. Even if I didn’t get sprinkles on mine.

FINALLY
I broke down into sweat while preparing for launch, even though I was so excited before. “ignition” called from the control tower. Thinking that it would be smooth ride, the rocket rocked side to side. Half way though the night sky, the space ship detached from the boosters and leaded into orbit.
Danger and adventure was by us, as we set to explore the truth. Quickly maneuvering pass the
sun we got a tan.
I need to rmember this next time!
I arrived at school with a brainless mind and said to myself “ What on earth is going on?" Seeing my teacher in a tutu was odd but what I soon realised I had forgotten about Immersion assembly.
Unlike other assemblies this one was different! How, you say? Easy 3 main reasons, first is the title “Immersion assembly”, second reason is the topic “Out of space” and lastly the other reason is there is always an interesting performance!
So I lined up at the door thinking it might be boring, but I was wrong! It actually was not that bad. Because when I walked though that door, I was amazed of what the teachers had come up with!
Parsing up at the selling, I sat quietly on the verge with excitement because, Mr.Barks was in his mask was unrecognisable which made me laugh. Mr Sommerville was dressed as a Ballerina that made him look funny. Once again I have to say, that it was amazing to see the teachers all dressed up for assembly!!
My favorite performance was the rap that was performed by team 2 planet rap! Cool isn’t it! They made a song about the planets.
Maybe its not so bad forgetting after all? You need surprises in life other wise, your life would be plain boring! That's a lesson!

Whats wrong?
Normally the weather would be nice and warm, and sunny bright colours would shine though the class window, but it was nothing like that. Blustery winds blow against my house, while puddles surrounded the drive way. While sitting in a chair in my kitchen, I just thought of the great idea. I was thinking about playing a board game like monopoly or checkers, but I never thought that we would have game called poleconomy.
A opportunity was made, and I was the one who was responsible. With confusion stuck in my head, I said to my auntie,“ Which way should I go? ” Making a quick decision, I moved my kiwi to its space, and said with regret “I should have gone over there!”
After the long and painful night, I drifted off to sleep. I may not be great at making the right move but hey at least I gave it a go! Even though I felt a different feeling inside of me.

Alfajorcitos
After a long half an hour of a successful writing, it was time to eat the delicious Alfajorcitos!
First thing first, we had to listen about the treats that we were about to eat! What I heard is that the Alfajors are made in Argentina, and most of all they are a dessert that many would like to live on!
Finally it was time to eat the delicious postre! Gazing at the treats in front of me, I quickly grabbed the knife and smeared the Dulce De Leche all over my biscuit. The Alfajors melted in my mouth, as I begged for another one.
What I know now is that, Alfajors are very additive. Maybe that’s why people can live on them because they are so YUM!!!!

Achieving my goal goal
People believe in GOD but do they believe that they can achieve their goal. If you’re clueless about what I'm going to say, just listen.
Cross country is the last thing that a kid would ever want to do! How I would I know? Easy I had cross country not so long ago. I remember having that dreadful feeling that I was going to come last.
With a tremendous race awaiting us on the trails around Pt England Reserve, I trembled with fear as I walked towards the starting point. My heart started to pound, as the instructor said with excitement,"Go!"
Twisting and turning though the race, a burst of heat went right though me. Realising that the expectation that I had set for my self was coming true, I felt confident in myself.
Running though the trail I could hear a noise,"It’s almost finished, come on you can do it" shouted a stranger. Next thing I knew it he was actually right. Pushing my self to the limit, I stumbled over the finish line. With happiness on my face, I said to my self "its finally over!!!!!!"

Recipes that I would like to eat at home!
Recipes that I would want to eat at home, because kids eat junk food almost every day so I'm going to change that using these healthy recipes.
FOR LUNCH I WOULD LIKE.............
These bite-sized morsels are the perfect finger food for entertaining when the occasion calls for something fuss-free, fresh and delicious.
Instructions
Step 1 Combine sifted flour with baking soda and baking powder. In a separate bowl, lightly beat egg and add milk. Make a well in the centre of the flour mixture and pour in egg and milk. Stir with a whisk until smooth and thick.
Step 2 Spoon a tablespoon of mixture into a lightly greased, non-stick frying pan. Cook over a medium heat for 3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the surface. Turn and cook for 1 minute. Repeat with remaining batter and set aside to cool completely.
Step 3 Combine sour cream, mustard and horseradish. Stir in chives and season with pepper. Spoon onto cooled pancakes and top with slices of smoked salmon. Garnish with extra chives and serve.
And for lunch.................
Hamburgers
Using ingredients you're bound to already have in your pantry, this recipe is simple enough for the kids to have a go.
Instructions
Step 1 Place mince, carrot, onion, salt and rolled oats into a bowl. Mix with clean hands and divide into 6 lots. Press each lot into a saucer to make a patty, or shape patty with your hands.
Step 2 Heat oil in a frying pan. Put patties in and fry, turning, until tcooked. Turn down the heat if they cook too fast.
Step 3 Split buns in half. Grill until golden. Spread with tomato sauce.
Step 4 To put hamburgers together, place cooked meat patty on top of sauce, then tomato slices on top, then lettuce and pineapple rings. Put lid on and serve.
And for dinner................
Cottage pie
Cottage pie is a comforting classic. Serve it with a simple green veges on the side.
Instructions
Step 1 Preheat oven to 200°C. Place potatoes in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Drain. Return to saucepan. Add spread and milk. Mash until smooth.
Step 2 Meanwhile, heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add mince and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up any lumps, for 5 minutes, or until brown. Add tomatoes and tomato paste. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until thick.
Step 3 Spoon mince mixture into a 6-cup capacity ovenproof dish. Top with mashed potato. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and potato is golden brown. Serve.

Badminton
I’d never thought that this day would come, I would always watch my mum play but now its my tern. You may be confused or might not even know what I’m talking about, so I’m going to tell what is it. Existing news that t have which I'm going to play is called.....Badminton!
Badminton is a very poplar game in my school since I have started playing it. There were some things that we did’t know about, like.............. a shuttle. For those of you that don’t know what it is I’m going to explain. It is like a ball but its got feathers.
Hoping that we would have a little fun, be had to learn a hole lot of stuff before we had any fun. The are rules to Badminton, like................ you have to pivot in order to get the shuttle and nip it but with a powerful one.
We had a challenge to see who can stay in the game for the longest. Here is my little story.
Swinging a miss, like a bird the shuttle soared into the air leaving the oppressions side and heading for its target. A rally for the points I quickly move my feet and whacked it as hard as I could and left with a proud exit.
Now I know how my mum feels when shes playing this game and, why its so poplar in my school. The question that stands is will I make a good champion

The Haka
How it all started.
Believe it or not that there is town that is called Rugby. A game was played at a boarding school that is in the area. There was no fixed limit for the number of players who could play football but the rules were different from what we have now. For instance players were not allowed to run with the ball. Instead they were permitted to handle the ball while standing still and throw the ball. Hundreds of players would take part in a sort of enormous rolling maul which would tumble towards the opposition’s goal. Major injures were brought to bodies.
Then one day in 1823 a teenager named William Webb Ellis broke the rules and ran with the ball. Since then Rugby was invented. Innovations were made over the years and in 1845 the rules for rugby were written.
Icon
Welcome to the island called Aotearoa! You may not think that we’re special so, I’m going to tell you Two main reasons why. We live on our own, with no one to talk to as our country is geographically isolated. We have a multicultural population. We have made a very treasured history filled with kiwiana.
Do you actually know what a tiki is? I’m guessing not. The term tiki refers to a carved human figure and is part of Maori and other pacific cultures. Its a Mystery finding out about the name of the myth of Tiki. On the other side, in many parts of pacific islands, for example in Niue, the Tiki myth is unknown and human figures were not carved but
they still had a tiki.
One of the things that is also unique is called Buzzy Bee. It is a famous icon to New Zealand. A toy and crafts man, created the colorful wood toy sometime in the late 1930’s. New Zealanders love Buzzy Bee. It is seen internationally on stamps and magazine covers. As you can see Buzzy Bee is a treasure to lots of people in New Zealand. As you will see, these kiwiana icons that New Zealand has developed themselves, demonstrates our uniqueness in the world. So I guess that New Zealand is really a very special little country after all.

A Legend
Jonah Lomu, was known as a big global super star in rugby. All Black Lomu, was thought of as the world’s greatest player. With his dream coming true he was able to play 63 games for the All Blacks. A number of players would try to knock him off his feet, but they couldn't. Their faces had a intimidating look saying please don’t heart me.
5 years later Lomu was diagnosed with serious kidney problems. Have you ever heard of dialysis? You may know that is what he had. Every 3 days we would have to got to a machine which cleans his blood. Lucky for him, a voice from the radio save his life by giving Jonah one of his kidneys. 3 years after.........
Jonah Lomu went looking to make a comeback in his chosen career. He played in Hong Kong and Wales. Finally in 2007 that he retired.

A week at the Pt.england resort
Reaching for the remote that terned on the water proof T.V, I wondered which techanel was my going to be my favourite. The dezeny techanel matched what i was looking for.
What a tiring week! Running, jumping, and sprinting to the resort, we stayed there for a few nights. Staying in an outstanding hotel with a buetful view, I ran outside for a swim in the most luxurious pool I had ever seen. With only Pt England students allowed, I jumped into the pool, making a giant splash
The thing that I loved to do the most, was watching the night sky. Fireworks appeared up in the night sky, as buetful as ever. Sounds from the fireworks was heard from the other side of the resort.
Staying for a few days at the resort, has been a honour. If I had more money I would go there everyday.

Maths act!!!!!
My story about my act
was given to us to do. Now that its the last week of school, we have to finish our work properly.
Minutes were wasted on finishing off our act.
Being able to finish my work would be a good thing for me.
"YA! I finished my work and now it looks like this!"
My New Uniform
When you get up in the morning, don’t you get sick of put on 2 bits of your uniform? In order to fix that problem, you can put on only 1 piece of uniform! You know how we wear red and black clothes right, BORING! Well I changed the colours for our uniform and hope the we can make that dream happen.
We don’t have to wear the same clothes that we wear all the time, from Monday to Friday. We can mix and match up the colours and d\esigns to make it more creative.Designing a new uniform would mean that I will have to improve in the old idea.Improving on the idea I think what it should be made out of cotton. Why I choose that position is because it keeps us warm.

Do you know how your older family members lived?
If your wondering how do I know about it?, I will tell you why.

oh great!! the first active that has been made for us was all about how thing were invented, was made by existent or was it made on perpis?

I AM MAKING A MOVIE 2
Entering a movie competition for the museum this year, to win a Digital camera for the whole school, is going to be fun! Going to the museum with 9 other people ( from my class ), was odd, but I had to go. Shivering while a Great performance was on, I tried not to think about if we were going to win. Waiting for the nominees to come up on the screen, I crossed my fingers and hoped that we would win. Taking a deep breath and waiting for Charlie to say who won the prize, I heard a voice saying “ And the winner is......Don’t forget your Roots, by Room 13 Kings from Pt. England school!” Cheering filled the room and happiness came towards us, as a quiet voice Spock for my class as we a resided our reword. It has been a long time ever since I won a prize like this before. Having this opportunity to won a prize like this, I would differently come

The sound of the tyres screeched, as the Delorean reversed out of the drive way. “Hey Doc, we have to back up, we don’t have enough road to get to 88” Marty suggested. “Roads?, where we’re going we don’t need roads” calculated Doc, while adjusting his glasses into place. A blast of fire came out of the Delorean, as it blasted off into the future.

Adding Detail to Sentences
This story shows you how I added to the beginning of the sentences, and at the end of the sentences. For getting how to write, we had to practice adding detail to sentences.
Room13 searched on the Internet, to find out who invented the spaceship.
Wanting to go to the moon, we had to invent the spaceship.

The Tornado at North Store
The tornado in AlbanyNorth shore
Yesterday afternoon, a powerful tornado touched down at Albany North Shore, Its timing was around 3pm, near a great big shopping mall. The tornado was so powerful ,that it ripped out roots for the trees, and though them down on the ground, which was leaving the ground with a big mess.
Cars were upside-down on the roads, roofs were torn a part. The tornado looks like a dark gray cloud twisting about in the air. The terable things that has happed like when the roots came out of the ground, I am sorry to hear that.

Straw Towers
One rainy morning, our teacher Miss King gave us a challenge. Build the tallest, unsupported tower you can out of straws.
Room 13 had teams. There were six people in each group. I was in a group with Wakatere, Flora,Eric,Shinika, Francis. The materials that room13 had to use were straws and tape. Each group had to use 75 straws and had to share the tape with the group next to them. It was time to work hard and come up with great ideas for my team. So we sat on the floor and tried to come up with some of these ideas. 20 minutes went past and we still didn't have an idea, but then I thought of an idea that included shape, I thought that it will never work but I thought it out and we tried it. It turned out like a mini hotel but without furniture inside. The time was up we saw which tower was the biggest and strongest. Sadly, we came last place. Adlest we gave it a try It

Earthquake in Christchurch
On Tuesday the 22nd of 2011, Christchurch was hit by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, it was 5km deep and hit Christchurch at 12.51 in the afternoon.
The earth is dived into big chunks, these chunks are called tectonic planets. When the tectonic planets rub against each other, it can cause an earthquake. This is what happened in Christchurch back in September, and again yesterday.
Shaking and rumbling of the earth caused many buildings to topple over. Rescuers are still looking for survivors under the collapsed buildings. To be able to get the survivors they have had to cut parts of their body off so they can be freed from the rubble.

Netbook Day
Then Mr.Burt came in and talked to us about the rules for our netbooks. We are not allowed to kick our desk because if we did it wold have banged the netbook and it might have a little crack on it.
After Mr.Burt had finished talking, Mrs. Burt handed out the netbooks. It was in a little box. Mrs.Burt taught us the instruction about how to open the box. I thought that my netbook would be a lot bigger then it really is. - But I still love it!
