My life....

If I had all the money in the world I would...party until I drop, drink fizzy drinks until I can’t stop, and enjoy my life while I am still young. BUT I know that...instead of my fantasy and glories dreams. I have  two annoying brothers, one drama queen sister, and a mother who talks, every night...loudly on her new phone.

Yes, yes, I get it...I just have a annoying and bugging life. BUT I know that, that is the negative things about my life. The great thing is,  I have nice friends who support me, in sports, and in a lot of things. SO...

That’s basically my life, what I have to come home to, and what I go to school to. So I think you know how well I sleep at night? Well if you guested warm, not annoyed, and not frustrated then your right....jokes. Only the opposite I’m afraid.

Netbook reflection

The great thing about having a netbook, besides having free time, is actually learning about other stuff. Reading, writing, and maths, is all fun to learn about. Now that we have netbooks. That’s just one thing, here is another one, picture’s. When you draw a picture you can just sit, because before we had to get up at least 4 to 5 time just to get the colours.

BUT....that’s the great thing, here is the frustrating thing, yes besides the Internet, is. Games, yes games. During class time, it is really tempting to go on games...because when your about to click on your writing...there it is, a game site. So...

That’s all I got to say about netbooks or though it would be nice to have free time every once and a while :D that’s all.

Freedom...

Each year a group of kids get their freedom. It’s mainly though Camp. Yes, camp. This year I get part of freedom...And just fro the recond, it’s quite enjoyable. NO annoying  brothers, or sisters in you way to have fun. BUt let me tell you a story about swimming.

Looking at the wet and suggy swimming togs, made it look cold and wet...and even just looking at it, made me shiver. “3 minutes!” called out, Mrs Garden. Bending over of the side of my bed, I soon relisied that it was, do or watch. So I rushed out side and started swimming in my togs.

Gracefully swimming on the deep blue sea,  a great big wave rushed into my mouth. “Yucky.” I yelled out, as I swallowed a huge amount of sea water. “Where did that come from?” I asked myself.  ‘Yay, whoo, hoo!’ yelled, the annoying boys from camp. It was quite clear now, where the big waves were coming from.

CAMP BENTZON

This movie is about camp, yes camp. It's about how much fun a kid should really have.....

The heart of the ocean

Have you ever heard of, the heart of the ocean? I have, but do you know how? Well it might be quite interesting to know about it, because so far what I heard, is that it's properly worth $2,000,000,000. Maybe more?

Another thing I have heard is that it has sank with a ship. And with outstanding pleasure, I would like to say that the boats was known as Titanic.

Now I hope you know what the heart of the ocean looks like but also know information about it.

Waiting for my auntie

My auntie finally went to Tonga..for a trip. For days she had been nagging about going to Tonga, and now she finally went. But I knew she was going to miss us. So I waited, and waited to receive a call from her. Shore enough I did.

"I'm coming back" she said, "But not alone...". When she said those words I suddenly went clueless. What was she on about? was she going to buy something for us or bring someone along with her. I really didn't know!

A few days later, there was a knock on the door. Again we heard it but within an attempt, we quickly close everything up and waited until he or she went away. 'Knock, knock'. "Hey man, it's me.".
"Me who?" quickly said my mum. "Your sister, Nia." she replied. "Oh, your back!" said my mum as she opened the door.

Waiting, waiting , and waiting....

Just a few more weeks for my sisters birthday party and just a few more days until my auntie leaves New Zealand and move to Tonga. I really can't wait. There's going to be music and presents..but sadly not for us!!But... I know that she's going to miss us!!

Our afternoon...

When the grass was still green and the sun was still out...me, my auntie, and my uncle, went the go play pool table.

As you can see we had a lot of fun until one of the guys from the conner leaped up from his chair and approached me. I didn't see him at that moment...it was my auntie who did.

"Laita, watch out." said my auntie, as she took me away from danger. "Hey, I could have got that!!" I said. "Yeah, and one more shot, you could have bumped into that man." auntie Blin replied with a sweet and soft voice.

"Oh, I didn't know that," I said,  "I'm sorry".  "It's okay come on let's get something to eat." She replied. "Hmm, I agree, my stomach is roaring." I answered.

My great movie

Hi my name is laita and this is my interesting movie.  What I have just created, was a short  animation. I had to animate myself walking up to my favourite toy and playing with it. There were a lot of toys I could think of  but I didn't know which one I wanted. So then I just animated myself playing on the play station.

I HOPE YOU ENJOY MY MOVIE!!!!

A Halloween story....

Look how the white and and grey colours bloom in the bright blue sky...like a big Gray flower. What you can also see is how the background reflects off the shiny warm water changing to world around it.

How I know so much about this place, is because I went there for the school holidays. It was a vibrant and wonderful place, not only because of it's values but because it's enjoyable...jokes....

I don't really know anything about this place, but be warned it may look like a good place, but you never know what will happen. Be afraid, be very afraid.  But not too much kids, because sometimes the monsters in the picture may come after you. Who  really knows?

The bright Spring season.

This picture represents the Spring season. How the blue and multicoloured flowers bloom together...and how the spring trees brighten up the day.

One dark night

One dark and cold night, Jake and his family went for a ride to the beach. On the way to the trough waves he thought it would be nice to get something to eat. So they hopped into the car and drove to the nearest shop as possible. “I be right back!” he said as he entered the shop.

Suddenly a voice appeared “Hands up, right now, YOU on the floor NOW!” Who’s that?, Jake thought to himself. It was a man robbing the bank.

“Hey man, it’s okay, just drop the gun and ever thing will be all right, it’s a one time offer.” said Jake, as he slowly approached the gun. “What are you doing?” asked the mysterious man. With an outstanding voice Jake yelled out loud, “NOW!”.

‘Whack’ went the board as the shopkeeper hit the guy on the head. “That looks painful” said Jake. “How could I ever thank you” said the shopkeeper. “Don’t thank me you did all the work.” jake said with a good bye.

My wonderful story...

Where crime and sadness stayed...was where an old squeaky house laid. But in that house was an old lady with her children. One day she died and in her secret will...said that her children had to lived with their auntie.  The antie's house was near an old beach.

Some say it was bad to go there...but others say it is good to go there. But nobody really knows? So one day the children discored what was on the unhabited land. It was a killerwhale and a tigershark sailing in the open seas. With these two animals in the water nobody will go near the water.

My sport event

Birds chipped and children yelled as the Monday  afternoon arrived. “Hey rom15, get a band and pair up we are going outside to do some fun things.” said Mr.marks as he weirdly walk off into the dissents. Slowly, and carefully we walked towards the junior  courts.

A challenging sports event was set up. We had to run up and down the courts...it may sound easy but here’s what you don’t realised. We have to run like we have amputated limbs, just like the paralympics athletes.

They are now defeated

10 seconds was left on the stop watch, as I watched the athletes pulled  their amputated limbs, while striking for the ball. 5,4,3,2,1, stop! Slipping and sliding around they notice they had lost. Once again defeat had been near them.

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

It's finally here

A powerful crowd, cheered their athletes as they raced down the tacks. Like charging bulls, they raced against time to the finish line. Spoked wheels spinning, crowds sceaming, hmmm...I wonder what the sport is. Oh! that's right. It's the paralympics sports events.

Mother natures bush walk

Outside where the lonely white tracks awaited us in the dissents, laid mother nature bush walk. Suddenly an announcement was made.“ All of the 9 year old to 11 year old line up for cross country!” yelled out Mr.Burt with an outstanding voice.

Rushing to the junior courts we sat down in our lines and waited with anticipation outside on the thinking about whats going to happen next. “On your marks, get set, go!” yelled out Mr.Burt as the 9 year old boys ran off into the dissents, young, and brave. Then it was our turn.

Butterflies thew around in my stomach, as I walked closer, and closer to the start line. 'On your marks get set GO!' Off I went running as fast as I could. Puddles surrounded the path way as I ran through the congested cheering crowed.

Halfway through mother natures bush walk I could see...my paste started to slowing down. So I ran through smelly and muddy creeks along with hot sweaty boys running next to me...yucky.

The running coarse

"Your almost there team four" yelled out Miss King, as the scorching sun shined down on us. While Running our cross country practice , I huffed and puffed my way down the rocky road. "I made it!" I said to myself as I walk around the outside of the court. We did our exercise then we tiredly went back to class.

My monster

Hi my name is laita and here's my monster...his name is Mr.Snuggles. He's not mean but he is kind!! Look at him the night garden!

The soccer bully

Gazing at our property being taken over...our coach screamed at the top of his lungs “Get him!!”. Everybody who even dare to touch him had, been defeated...but then it was my turn. Slowly and carefully, the charging bull ran towards me.

Skidding around like a bunch of marbles all over the field, I ran in fear.
“Help, help!” I cried out, trying to reach for the nearest exit...but then I remembered...it’s just a game, there is no exit.

Victory or defeat I thought to myself...as he ran closer and closer,
‘’How great would  it really be to taste a rich solid victory?”
was the question that laid in my head...but to me,defeat was never an option.

Shaking off all the negative feelings I overcame my fears and ran towards the soccer bully. “Come here and get me!” I yelled out with aconfidence. Tumbling through roaring audience out he came.

Olympic symbols

This term our inquiry topic is the Olympic Games. We will be taking a close look at the London games and also uncovering some of the amazing stories of the Olympics, both past and present.

The 5 olympic rings, better known as the olympic smybols represents the 5 inhabited continents (Africa, Asia, Europe, America, Australasia). The coloured version of the olympic symbols forms an olympic flag. Each of these colours represent the national colours from the 5 continents. For an example...blue, red and white are from New Zealand flag.
In 1914 the olympic flag was created...but in 1920 the flag was flown for the first time. Since then the flag has been flown in each celebration.

A feeling

Cold and stormy winds lowered us down into the darkness...without a breath. One moment later, warmth was near our bodies. It had turn out my uncle had made a blazing red fire...keeping us warm for the whole winter season. It wasn’t a great view just sitting around the blazing hot fire but as much as I can say I felt like a planet orbiting around the bright scorching sun.

Creating a piece of art...

“Im cold!” complained my class... as blistery strough winds blow against us while we approached Youth town. Shivering in the cold, one by one we all strode though the main entrance. “Amazing!” we all yelled... gazing at the artwork that has been layed befour us.

Cheerfully walking to the workshop, we all saw a big block of eky sticky clay lining up befour us...but we all just thought what was it for? Then we got our answer...it was true that we were going to make muddy sticky clay.

Sticky, squishy clay was given to us to use. Creating a chaotic mess I realized it was time to put in some glass...so I quickly maneuvered  through the sharp, and shiny glass and made my piece of artwork into a multi coloured butterfly.

Jackson Pollock

Jackson pollock was a very famous american painter. He also was a new yorker who loved art. It was obvious that his passion was to flick,  splatter, and create a chaotic mess on his sheet of paper. Not only it was a chaotic mess but it was an undefinable pecaie of art.

Like Jackson pollock my teacher wanted my class and I to copy his dign. So we ran outside like a bush of animals, wild, young and free.
Splattering the watery eky paint, I used my imagination to peak through the picture I had just created.

An old sweaking tree perparing for its worestest nightmare was just what I was imaging.

Robert Delaunay

Robert Delaunay was a french painter along with his wife Sonia. Together they created a contrasting piece of artwork... using Geometric shapes and vibrant colours. Not only was he a french painter but he was a writer and also a  great poet.

Using bright vibrant colour, he brought his artwork to life. He often used Geometric shapes to represent an object or a person in his artwork.

In the painting of the ‘Tall Portuguese Women’ you can see a large leafed plant on the left hand side of the paper. You can see that each leaf is a different colour creating a contrast.

This is my first attempt at creating a piece of art in the style of Robert Delaunay.

Ali Teo

I have been learning about the illustrator Ali Teo and her fun playful style of art.
These are the kinds of animals she draws.

Oh no

As you all know, I am going to swimming today. I'm so excited. I can hardly wait!

I'm bored

Every single kid in the world has something to look forward to at the end of school. Unlike everybody else... I don’t have something to look forward to. Until I got back from the fish and chips shop.

The news was...my older sister Luta was coming over for the holidays! It had been a long time since I had talked to her, but now I finally could!!

I was speechless when she showed up on my front door! I wanted to go over and talk to her, but it seemed like something or somebody was holding me back.  I tried to push that pressure away from me but I couldn’t. It felt like I was stuck!

The day will come

I never thought that this day would ever come. News went around in the house saying that my mum's new boy friend is coming over???I just can't wait to meet him!!!

Roller blading

It was the first day of camp and we had just finished watching a movie! With all that yelling coming from the other classes, I suddenly got tried. So I leaped up and crashed into my tent wishing for a good night sleep.

Sleeping on the lumpy uneven grass, I saw a great big shadow rise from the dark and hit our tent saying go to sleep!!!! I let scary thoughts take over my mind so I could drift off to sleep.

I rose like the sun the next morning, waiting for our next activity. Roller blading was our first stop. The crowd went wild once they heard the news!

I wasn't quite as excited about going roller balding because to be quite honest....... I did’t know how to stand up straight.

Camp

At last, freedom has come. I am now going to camp! No more dishes to wash and no more annoying brothers. Just nothing but me and my friends at camp.

I had already accomplished three of my tasks and it was quite tiring. I crawled into my tent trying to relax. Laying down in the warm sun I remembered my favourite part of the day.

It was going to top town, and most of all winning the game!!

Monday, March 12, 2012

I'm so excited

There are two more days until camp! I’m going to enjoy my time at camp as much as I can. Why? you may say, because I have freedom!!! Nobody to tell me what to do, and most of all no annoying brothers!!!

BUT... the negaive point about camp is that.......you HAVE TO perform in front of the rest of the campers. I get nervous every single time. Espeacilly when the audience looks at you!!!!

The hall with directions

The hot sun shined on my beautiful school, as I wondered what would be the first thing we were going to do today. One second later, an instruction was given to me and my class. The instruction was...for my class to shut our netbooks and go down to the school hall.

Just as I walked in..... an obstacle course was set up. I asked myself and wondered “Why couldn’t it be in the field? After all it is sunny.” Then I got my answer, we were going to write about it for our test.

Just as I thought it was going to be easy, well I thought wrong!! It was harder than it looked. The pressure was on me and me partner Mele, because we were the first ones to go.

I didn’t know which one was harder being blindfolded or giving instructions for my partner to manoeuvre through the tricky parts? Once again a tough dision was about to be made. Mele, said to me “I’ll go first, then you okay?”

Unable to get across to the other side, she would have to trust me with my directions. So she did. We made it to the other side with out making mistakes.

I thought we were finished...BUT.... once again I was wrong!! It was my turn to be blindfolded. Once I put the cover on my eyes it felt weird because it was only sound I could hear but no sight. Once I jumped off the stage, it felt like jumping off a mountain but blindfolded. Can you imagine that?

Just as I had got the felling like I was going to die, I took off my blindfold and then felt alive!!

A day at the ptengland beach

The scorching sun shined down on us, as we approached the beach. We all sat down on the cold went grass to have morning tea. One moment later, we all scatered like a bunch of marballs that has just been dropped all over the pt england reserve field.

Kids played games and other kids were down at the beach making mudy sculptures. I was one of those kids making sculptures and it was fun!

Just as the day had been full of laughter! our time was up. As I dragged my feet out of the muddy wet sand, I suddenly thought of what was the best part of the day. I had just remembered that the best part of the day was.....watching the rest of my school doing karaoke!!! It was really funny!!
